DESCRIPTION:Our first Care Circle of the school year is with the Peer Support Centre and involves setting goals for the upcoming school year and writing letters to your future self! AVP will provide stationary and ways to decorate\, though feel free to bring your own supplies\, and will hold onto your letters to be picked up once the school year ends in April. \n\n\n\nThe Community Care Circle is a free weekly\, drop-in event that aims to create a space for UVic students to build community. Through events such as craft\, workshops\, or skills building\, we want you to be able to come together to share\, learn\, connect\, advocate for change\, and build a culture of care. All are welcome!

DESCRIPTION:The Men’s Circle at UVic hosts a weekly drop in men’s circle seeking to help men and masculine identifying folks improve their relationship with themself\, their peers\, romantic interests and their community. \n\n\n\nThe circle meets every Thursday night from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at UVic in the SUB basement room B028. The circle is open to all men and masculine-identifying people\, students and community members alike. \n\n\n\nWhat happens in a circle?We start our weekly circles with a check-in (sharing a recent win and challenge)\, then explore whatever’s on people’s minds or a guided topic\, and wrap up with a check-out reflecting on comments and stories from that week’s circle that felt impactful. \n\n\n\nYou are welcome to share or just listen. \n\n\n\n🍕Free food and drinks🎟️Bus tickets included.🙌Open to UVic students and the wider community.✅No sign-up just show up as you are. \n\n\n\nThe Men’s Circle at UVic is an initiative of the Anti-Violence Project\, the on campus sexual assault center at UVic. This workshop separates fact from fiction\, addressing the myths that surround DFSA and the realities of how it occurs while creating a space free of stigma and victiming-blaming. Participants will learn practical strategies for prevention and how to recognize the risk factors for DFSA and non-consensual dosing / intoxication\, while placing the responsibility onto  perpetrators and the community rather than potential victims.  \n\n\n\nObjectives Clarify what DFSA is and how it typically occurs\, challenging common myths and misconceptions. \n\n\n\nRecognize signs and patterns of DFSA in nightlife and social settings. \n\n\n\nIdentify factors that contribute to vulnerability and risk\, including environmental and systemic issues. \n\n\n\nExplore prevention strategies that center community care\, not fear or surveillance. \n\n\n\nRespond appropriately and compassionately when someone is suspected to have been drugged or harmed. \n\n\n\nConnect with relevant resources and support options for those affected by DFSA.
