DESCRIPTION:Drug-Facilitated Sexual Assault (DFSA)\, often referred to as drink spiking\, is a serious but often misunderstood issue. This workshop separates fact from fiction\, addressing the myths that surround DFSA and the realities of how it occurs while creating a space free of stigma and victiming-blaming. Participants will learn practical strategies for prevention and how to recognize the risk factors for DFSA and non-consensual dosing / intoxication\, while placing the responsibility onto  perpetrators and the community rather than potential victims.  \n\n\n\nObjectives Clarify what DFSA is and how it typically occurs\, challenging common myths and misconceptions. \n\n\n\nRecognize signs and patterns of DFSA in nightlife and social settings. \n\n\n\nIdentify factors that contribute to vulnerability and risk\, including environmental and systemic issues. \n\n\n\nExplore prevention strategies that center community care\, not fear or surveillance. \n\n\n\nRespond appropriately and compassionately when someone is suspected to have been drugged or harmed. \n\n\n\nConnect with relevant resources and support options for those affected by DFSA.

DESCRIPTION:Alcohol and other drugs are a common part of many social and nightlife experiences\, yet conversations about consent often ignore the realities of intoxication. This workshop explores how alcohol and other substances can affect communication\, decision-making\, memory\, and the ability to freely give or recognize consent. \n\n\n\nRather than promoting abstinence or relying on fear-based messaging\, participants will learn practical harm reduction strategies for navigating intimacy responsibly while under the influence. The workshop encourages participants to prioritize communication\, recognize when consent cannot be given\, and create experiences that are respectful\, pleasurable\, and safer for everyone involved. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nObjectives \n\n\n\nBuild confidence communicating about consent before\, during\, and after intimate experiences. \n\n\n\nUnderstand practical tools for navigating alcohol\, drugs\, and intimacy in ways that prioritize consent and mutual respect. \n\n\n\nStrengthen skills for recognizing and responding when someone may not be able to freely consent. \n\n\n\nIncrease understanding of  harm reduction strategies that support ethical decision-making while under the influence. \n\n\n\nExplore how to create intimate experiences that are consensual\, enjoyable\, and grounded in clear communication. \n\n\n\nFoster shared responsibility for building cultures of respect\, care\, and accountability.
