AVP & Good Night Out Present Intoxication, Intimacy & Consent [ZOOM]
October 6 @ 5:00 pm – 6:30 pm
Alcohol and other drugs are a common part of many social and nightlife experiences, yet conversations about consent often ignore the realities of intoxication. This workshop explores how alcohol and other substances can affect communication, decision-making, memory, and the ability to freely give or recognize consent.
Rather than promoting abstinence or relying on fear-based messaging, participants will learn practical harm reduction strategies for navigating intimacy responsibly while under the influence. The workshop encourages participants to prioritize communication, recognize when consent cannot be given, and create experiences that are respectful, pleasurable, and safer for everyone involved.
