Clothesline Project at UVic
Over the next few days the Clothesline Project will be up at UVic in the Student Union Building, the D wing of the MacLaurin bldg, and in the lobby of the University Center. On Thurs from 5-7 pm we will be holding space for survivors and their allies in the South Tower at Residence (some event details are on the poster and the rest will be avail on our fb page “Anti.Violence.Project”). These actions are in response to a request from people who live in Residence and, like many of us, are dealing with sexualized violence and it’s impacts in our communities.
The Clothesline Project can be powerful, touching, and overwhelming, especially for those of us who have experienced sexualized and gender-based violence. We hope to inform folks of these installations in order to offer some space to take care yourselves in whatever way feels right for you, and to choose to move through the space, look at the t-shirts and/or (not) participate in ways that honor your needs, wants, and boundaries.
