Continuing Services Pause
The outgoing and continuing AVP staff members are incredibly saddened to announce that we will be unable to provide our core services until further notice. We know that these services are incredibly important to our community, and this decision has been made after careful consideration of our current circumstances. Unfortunately, we have experienced a prolonged period of short-staffing that will continue for some time. While we are hopeful for the changes that are ahead of us, we are not currently able to offer support services or workshops until we have a fully trained staff team again. For future updates, please continue to follow us on our social media accounts.
We sincerely apologize for the impact that these changes will have and thank you all for your patience as our organization navigates these next few months. If you need to reach someone for immediate support, there are several places you can contact:
- The Vancouver Island Crisis Line: 1-888-494-3888 – you can contact the Victoria Sexual Assault Centre’s 24-hour all-gender Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) via the crisis line
- Community-Led Crisis Response Team: 250-818-2454 mobile crisis response team led by persons with lived/living experience and mental health professionals, who are able to de-escalate crises and develop community care plans with persons experiencing crisis (currently running between 2pm and 9pm, Monday through Friday)
- Trans Lifeline: 1-877-330-6366 (available 7am to 1am every day). Trans Lifeline provides culturally competent services to trans and gender-nonconforming people in crisis.
