AVP response to COVID-19

As some of you may already know, the UVic Student Union Building in which our office is located is now closed in response to COVID-19. In order to continue to support survivors and our wider community, we are switching up some things to. Please read through the following updates for more information (updated March 18th, 2020):

Office Hours

With our office closed our staff have transitioned to working remotely, therefore if you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us. Unfortunately, we are unable to distribute safer sex supplies at this time (we will update if we find a place still distributing free condoms, lube, gloves, etc.).

Support Hours

Drop-in support in our support room is no longer available. However, there are still two options for accessing our peer-based support services:

  1. Receive support over email by contacting
  2. Receive support over the phone by calling us at our new number 778-400-5007

AVP Staff will be available for support from Monday to Thursday, 11 am to 1 pm and 3 pm to 5 pm. If you are in need of immediate assistance outside of our listed hours click here for emergency information and crisis lines.

The Men’s Circle and Workshops

Upcoming workshops and Men’s Circle gatherings have been cancelled at this time. If you have questions about consent, sexualized violence, gender, etc. be sure to check out the info on our website or can reach out to us for resources and info. We’re here to answer questions as best we can! For education-related inquiries email

We are inspired by the responses of care throughout our communities and beyond. We want you to know we are here for you too.

In care and solidarity always,
