*Closed* AVP is hiring a Volunteer Organizer!

Passionate about ending sexualized and gender-based violence? We’re looking for someone to fill the Volunteer Organizer (Outreach Officer) position on the AVP team! This position is open to all UVic undergraduate students, and includes recruiting and training new volunteers for our sexual assault centre, as well as communicating with our current wonderful volunteers and organizing tasks for them.

This is a part-time position of 10 hours per week, with the potential to take on more hours during our peak times. We are a unionized work environment, and offer $15.95 per hour (plus vacation pay), as well as a pay increase every year.

Working with the Anti-Violence Project means being part of a diverse and supportive work environment. We offer flexibility around your hours to fit comfortably with your schedule and capacity, as well as many opportunities for personal and professional development through our network of social justice community organizations. We’re hoping to have the successful candidate start in the position July 22nd, but we’re flexible about that too!

This position is restricted to self-identified women, gender non-conforming and non-binary applicants only. In support of employment equity and in order to increase our relevancy and diversity of skills, knowledge and experience, AVP strongly encourages self-identified people of colour, people with disabilities, Indigenous, queer and transgender people to apply. Check out the full job description here.

If this sounds like a good fit for you, please send in your cover letter and resume. Applications MUST be emailed to or dropped off at the UVSS General Office in the Student Union Building before 9:00am on July 3rd, 2019
