We’re hiring a Community Coordinator to join our wonderful team! This is a 24 hour a week 3-year term position that pays $24.69/hr plus vacation pay, with yearly pay increases and sweet benefits like medical/dental coverage. This coordinator position will support the Anti-Violence Project’s community partnerships, projects and long-term planning through active participation on campus committees, gathering student feedback, organizing the AVP Advisory Collective and much more. If you have skills in relationship building, event planning, collective decision making, and have experience working in/with sexual assault centres or other social justice organizations, you’re just what we are looking for! A full job description including duties and qualifications can be viewed here (PDF will open in a new window).
Working with the Anti-Violence Project means being part of a diverse and collaborative unionized work environment. Our team is currently working predominantly from home, but if working remotely presents a barrier for you, please get in touch–we want to be able to support whoever gets this position in whatever ways they need.
This position is restricted to self-identified women, gender non-conforming, and non-binary applicants only. In support of employment equity and in order to increase our relevancy and diversity of skills, knowledge and experience, AVP strongly encourages self-identified people of colour, people with disabilities, Black, Indigenous, queer, and transgender people to apply. Preference will be given to qualified applicants who self-identify as being from marginalized communities and groups who face systemic barriers to employment. Applicants who wish to do so may self-identify in their cover letter.
The posting will be open until Monday, March 8th, at 11 am. All applications MUST be submitted to or dropped off at the General Office in the Student Union Building. If they are submitted by other means they cannot be accepted. You can also view this job positing on the UVSS website, here.
